This specimens comes from a relatively small find of unique, encrustation pseudomorphs of adamite after botryoidal smithsonite. The specimens are actually curvy casts of adamite crystals as they were deposited on a botryoidal smithsonite surface that was naturally dissolved. As a result we have these wonderful and bizarre specimens. Here is a fine, representative example with more of brown, rather than green adamite which is an unusual color tone for Lavrion adamite. Better an in person with fine luster that the photos can't show.
