This specimen comes from a recent find of fluorites from Lavrion. Though fluorite is relatively common from Lavrion, we rarely have decent, collectible specimens from this ancient mining district. They usually are too fragile or heavily damaged with tiny crystals, without color and of poor quality. This find produced some decent examples of the species for the locality, that either have good crystal size and nicely formed specimens in fine condition, or even good quality overall.
This is an interesting example as we can see two generations of fluorite. The first generation is a cute purple one and there is a partial deposition of a second generation of contrasting white fluorite. Only a handful of specimens from the pocket had this interesting feature!
