This is a spectacular spessartine from Pakistan. I got this from the collection of a garnet collector in Munich, last year. The crystal is leaping out of the matrix and is complete all around and undamaged. It is a sharp, gemmy, slightly modified icositetrahedron with great color and luster. Rotating the piece, you will find out that there the lines around the faces have shine distinctively, creating a lustrous outline of the crystals. This effect is very showy and impressive. Smaller spessartines are scattered here and there too. A great, unusual, choice example of spessartine!
