Christiana mine, Lavrion, Attica, Greece

Species: Adamite
Locality: Christiana mine, Lavrion, Attica, Greece
Specimen Dimensions: 7.1x5.4x1.9cm
Size: Small Cabinet
Availability: Available

This specimen consists almost entirely of adamite with some thin calcite matrix at the bottom. For those who are familiar with Greek adamites, it is obvious that the overall mass of the adamite is huge for the locality as the typical Greek adamites are tiny little crystals springled over a gossan matrix. The piece consists of several crystalline spheroids that are packed together. It has a fine luster some white traces of calcite atop. The color is pale greenish and the entire specimen is translucent. A fine Greek adamite from a recent find in Christiana.
